Sawadee my Fellow Archers,

It is time again that we will meet in Bangkok for sixth year running of the Indoor Archery World Cup Stage 2, this is the third year in Bangkok, with each year having more archers than previous, we are expecting the same for this year. So for this year we encourage you to register early not to be disappointed, as space is limited.

As usual, this year we will also have the Indoor Para Archery World Cup for the third year running and the Youth Cup after the IAWC. We have also added two new Tournaments for this year. The Indoor Barebow Championship (IBC) and the Indoor Archery Master Cup (IAMC). With these new additional events we expect more turn out and will be more exciting than last year.

Bangkok a city that never sleeps, add new Malls, new train tracks and new excitements every year. If you had been to Bangkok last year, this year you must add a few days after the tournament and explore outer Bangkok to the other provinces of Thailand, such as Ayuthaya the ancient city, Chiang Mai the northern city to enjoy the cool weather and food, also to Nong Khai the north eastern (Esan) part of Thailand that is separated by the great Mekong River with Laos. This river houses the world’s largest “Cat Fish”, or simply stay in Bangkok and do temple visits, culture shows, night life and off course food. Thai food a must for every visitor, with its unique taste and flavor it will surely be an unforgettable adventure, but beware it is hot and spicy. There are also other food like Japanese, Chinese, Korean and European food. From street stalls to restaurants and five star dining are all available.

Transportation is most convenient and cheap. You can take the subways, sky trains, buses, tuk tuks, motorcycle taxis, and taxis.
Best to avoid traffic jams in the city is to take the subways and sky trains which are clean, aircon and comfortable. Taxis starts meter at 35 Bahts and is another way to travel around Bangkok during off peak hours.

However there is also another means of transportation from outer Bangkok into the city, by taxi boats which ply along the greater canals, best to use this if you intent to see the riverside attractions. One of the best ways to explore Bangkok and outer Bangkok is the take the train and hop on and off at major stations to see the city. At every major station there is always something different to see.

Currency exchange and financial services (ATMs) are readily available everywhere, in the Malls, Kiosk along the street operated by Banks.

There are two international airports in Bangkok, Suvarnabhumi International Airport (New Bangkok) and Don Meuang International Airport. Suggest that when you arrive in the airport to take a free copy of the street map on inner Bangkok, where it will give you some ideas of sightseeing and shopping.

Most importantly, the people of Thailand are best known for their ‘Thainess”, they are known to be very friendly and charming in every way, that is why, Thailand is known as the Land of a thousand smiles and Amazing Thailand as it never stops to excite you.

Welcome to Thailand.

See you soon again…….
